BCF Live connector to Trimble Connect, wrong component selection and visibility
-
Trimble connect has a BCF topics function in beta that can view, import and export BCF entries. Solibri’s BCF Live Connector can directly sync with it (supposedly).
However, I found several bugs, which I don’t know whether that’s on Solibri side or Trimble connect side:- Every issue in Solibri has included a list of relevant components. When synced to Trimble connect, some of these components are not selected. My tests showed that if these components belong to multiple files, only components from one file will be selected in Trimble Connect.
- Even though only relevant components are shown (others hidden) in Solibri’s issue, when synced and viewed in Trimble Connect, the view will show all components. Seems that Trimble connect ignores the “visibility” of components.
See if any one can help. Thanks!!

I agree with @Wing-Mang. I still noticed some bugs, but I don’t know if they are from Solibri or Trimble Connect side. Visibility of critical components is the main thing to fix in order to work with the BCF Live Connector.

It’s good to know it is not just me having this problem with Trimble Connect. I think the BCF Live Connector is a very powerful function, if it can really work across multiple platforms, which puts Solibri at centre stage for model checking.
I just filed a bug report on this issue to Trimble Connect’s local reseller (for sending to their headquarters). Hope it can be resolved soon.

My update on this matter on Solibri ver.9.13.6.15
- Views can now be transferred back and forth between Solibri BCF live connector and Trimble Connect BCF topics. (this is very big bug fix!)
- Object selection set is still not transferred on either direction, i.e. either from Solibri to Trimble Connect, or Trimble Connect to Solibri.
- Object Visilibility is also still not transferred on either direction.
At least issue 1 is fixed, and it makes BCF workflow workable between solibri and Trimble connect. Great thanks!
