Is there any way to create/add "sub-classifications" within Classifications?
-
A project that I am currently working on has a list of components categories provided by the client. Within that component list, there are also sub-categories.
For example:
Component category - Covering
Sub-category - Membrane
Sub-category - WrappingI want to create Solibri classifications for the list of components (e.g. Covering).
Is there any way to add “sub-classifcations” where I can add Membrane and Wrapping under the Covering Classification?
Hopefully this makes sense and I appreciate any assistance on this.
Thank you!

Thanks for the response. The main purpose is to facilitate our checking processes. There are checks that we need to do for all Coverings and there are other checks that are very specific for Membrane and other checks that are specific for Wrapping, for example.

Would a multiple classification / All matching that uses the =1 / =2 nomination to classify the component directly to their Ifc Entity and Predefined Type work?
Ifc Entity - Predefined Type - Multiple Classification.classification

In IFC itself it is possible to have a IfcClassification with parent/child relationships
