    Hello everyone,

I am trying to setup a workflow with solibri and different CAD softwares where it would not be necessary to create openings in structural model for HVAC vs STR synthesis.
Fluid engineers would simply create objects representing requests of openings (green objects)

What I am trying to achieve with Solibri is to check for every clash between STR and HVAC that there is at the same place a clash with opening elements.

There is vertical and horizontal fluids and a duct can go through more than one walls.

Did anyone already experienced this and found a way ?

    Thank you for your help.

      Hey @cdailloux,

I would try this with the rule #234

With the rule you could check that the Voids are filled with a duct/pipe and a wall/slab.

      cacc18bd-fe86-44dd-8100-6993a676be58-image.png

      example: test.smc

This rule wouldn’t check if you have a duct/pipe clashing a wall and there is no void, for that purpose you could add this type checking that was discussed here: https://society.solibri.com/topic/289

So you would need couple of rules to detect all possible variations of the issues but if that is not a stopper i think this type of checking is possible with the existing rules.

        Hello Cyril 🙂

We are checking this pretty much the way @Lauri-Luoma told you in his post before.

The ruleset contains multiple rules, the first one is to check that all void elements lie within the walls, and therefore do not “float around” in thin air.
Next up, I check that all HVAC components are not overleaping the voids on the side and their minimum distance to the edge that is required.

If this check is successful, the next step would be to check for all HVAC components that clash with a wall or a slab for example.
The “gatekeeper” rule is going to help me to check those clashing components again.
So if they clash with a wall or a slab, they also have to clash with a void-component to be correct.

If this isn’t the case, the HVAC components that clash with a wall, but not with a void will be shown to me.

I hope this might help! 🤞
Hopefully you’ll have a great rest of the day
        Many regards from Switzerland
        Nico 🙂

@Nicola-Tessarolo Could you please share the ruleset. Thanks
