Rule checking performance

Hi,

I notice time and time again that the time between the apparent end of the rule execution (all results can be viewed) and the true end (“check model” goes back to the blue icon) is very long, sometimes even longer than the execution time.

Why is that so? What is the software even doing?

This, combined with the fact that

• checking can’t be paused
• files can’t be saved during checking
• canceling checks is longer than the checking time, often times just resulting in an unsavable file
• there is no overview of remaining checking time (even a rough approximation would be helpful)

makes it really cumbersome to arrive to an end.

Has anyone an explanation or a workaround for that?
