Hi I am new to Solibri and are trying to create my own rulesets at this moment and wonder if there is any way to remove all of pipes/ducts that are going vertical against the compound ceiling from the results?

Hey @Jimin Try setting a “exception” in your intersection rule. The exception should remove clashes that are in 90 degree angle with the compound ceiling.

@Lauri-Luoma oh wow! Thank you so much!

But I wonder, what does the “protrusion 50mm” do?

@Jimin If the minimum protrusion is set as 50mm, the duct/pipe has to protrude the compound ceiling at least 50mm to be excluded from the checking results. Ducts that won’t protrude at all (end up inside the ceiling) can’t be excluded.

            Hello @lauri-luoma,

@lauri-luoma said in Creating rulesets: Vertical MEP against compound ceiling:

The exception should remove clashes that are in 90 degree angle with the compound ceiling.

Is there a way to allow ducts that are not exactly at 90°?

It would be useful in some cases (i.e. distribution elements going through a roof that has a slope).

            Best regards 🙂
            Mathieu

              Hey @mathieu-farine ,

You could exclude those clashes with the normal filter (without going into the exceptions) in the rule with the “exclude” operator and defining e.g. the slab that is actually a roof. You would just need to know what parameter is unique for the tilted slab so that you can exclude only those slabs from the checking.

Hope you got the idea! 🙂

              Best regards,
              Lauri Luoma

@lauri-luoma thx for your quick answer! 🙃

In that case that could be done yes but if there is a slight modelling error in the MEP part and that its elements don’t cross walls or slabs exactly at 90° I would get a problem although it is not (in my opinion).

Wouldn’t it be possible just to get a toggle “exactly at 90°” per example?

                  @mathieu-farine

Ok, i understand. Unfortunately the degree is not currently possible to adjust.

Meaning that this is turning into a feature/improvement request in the existing rule 🙂 : https://society.solibri.com/category/18/feature-requests

                  Br,
                  Lauri
