Window and Door operation definitions
-
It’s not a directly question for Solibri, but an question about the operation definitions of Windows and Doors in IFC format.
I’d would like to have the definitions of IfcWindowStyleOperationEnum, IfcWindowPanelOperationEnum, IfcDoorPanelOperationEnum and IfcDoorStyleOperationEnum in the IFC model. When this information is in the model, it’s not an discussion anymore of the correct operations at which position in the model.
In Revit i used the Operation parameter bij Doors Category, that’s not a problem. But how to fix this by the Windows Category?

https://standards.buildingsmart.org/IFC/DEV/IFC4_3/RC1/HTML/
find clause 7.1.2.9
or
find IfcWindowStyleOperationEnum -
We have made a poster about this… sorry partly in Dutch.
If you are interested… we can send it by mail.
Thanks to @b-huijskes

@JeroenKoomen Thanks Jeroen! That’s a interesting poster. It would be nice if you can send it to me. (@: [email protected]).
But… the Operation parameter in the Doors Category i know and used it succesfully. I would like have the information of the Windows Category in IFC correctly. So the panel layout and also the operate of the window part (example DoublePanelVertical, SideHungRightHand, TiltAndTurnLeftHand, etc.) is available in the IFC model.
In the end we can use this information in combination with classification / rule sets, but also to communicate with Matrix software, the factory for the windows and doors.

@mwhdejong
We have also made a poster about Windows, though it is not (yet) as polished as the Doors one…
This is what you are looking for, right?

-
@b-huijskes Yes, thats the information… it’s looking very good at the posters!
But the main question about it, how to fix the export from Revit to IFC. For the doors i can filled in the Operation parameter. But what is the correct workflow for Windows to set the information in the IFC (2x3) correctly?
-
Morning @b-huijskes! Any idea how to export from Revit to set the correct operation parameters to the IFC model?

@mwhdejong To my knowledge Autodesk has a Shared Parameter file that should work for both Doors and Windows, though I am not 100% certain. I’d have to check to be sure (currently very busy with projects).
You can also check the Autodesk SourceForge / Github page to see if there is any additional information there.
Hope this helps!Autodesk GitHub: https://github.com/Autodesk/revit-ifc/issues
