    Hi,

I have recently started in a project that requires me to use Solibri 9.10.38, and to connect to an existing project in BIMCollab.

Because we (my colleagues) started using Bimcollab synchronization in these projects before the “bimcollab new” server was introduced they still have a functioning system.

However, as stated, I am new to this project, and have been forced to set up the synchronization mechanism with the tools that are available today. That means that the only “server” I can point to is the “bimcollab new”, which does not work as it is supposed to do, and I have very slow synchronization in the projects of the scale we are doing (with 1400 issues that are either active, resolved or closed).

Very slow in this case means that synchronization just from the bimcollab cloud to the local smc-model takes 30 minutes, while my colleagues who are able to use “the old bimcollab server interface” do the same thing in about 30 seconds.

We cannot change the ways of working in mid project as there are tens of project participants that rely on Solibri for their daily work. We simply have to make this work.

The issue at hand is quite critical for my role in the project. Is there a way to get this to work? Reintroduce the “the old bimcollab server interface”?

    Regards,

    Sebastian

I’m having exactly the same issue. Has this been solved?
      Regards Yasmine

        Hi!

It has been solved in a way that makes me able to work, but it still for some reason slower than my collogues.
I posted a list of things that I have done to another Solibri Society issue (Home-Solibri Developer Platform-General Discussion-Status bar - Importing issues from BIMCollab).
Below is the things I did in order to get it to work in a way:

1.Synchronizing filter. Working in a large project with 300 issues (starting with 600 issues), I have imported the issues through the synchronizing filter (Active, Resolved, Status, Assigned to, Area etc.) it makes the amount that synchronizes much smaller.

2a. While synchronizing from the cloud, do not have a issue in the folder selected.
2b. While synchronizing to the cloud. Select the issues in the folder that you want to synchronize with the cloud.

3.Reallocated RAM for Solibri. My Solibri hade per default 7 GB of RAM allocated to it’s processes (I have 32 GB installed) so, I changed it to 22 GB. It might have to do that Solibri loads every issue and the camera angle and picture). The change can be made in the vmoption file.

4.Using Solibri console. In the program file folder of Solibri, there is a folder named “bin”, and in the folder there is the application Solibri Console.exe. Although, this is more meant for developers, it can have some things “unlocked” compered to the normal version (I am sure that Solibri staff can more elaborate on this point).

5.Remove the Closed issues from Solibri. In order to minimize the Solibri file size and trying to minimize the issues that synchronize, we have started to exporting the closed issues to a bcf file and store them separately (From 600 issues ->300).

I still have to wait a couple of minutes (2-5min) before synchronizing from the cloud is done.
It is not perfect but it works for me, Hope it helps.

Hello thank you for the info, The only thing I’m wondering now is how do you keep a ‘connection’ between the issue numbers in bimcollab and solibri? I have a lot of people then asking me, what’s the number of this issue in bimcollab. If we don’t sync them all we don’t know the referring number in bimcollab anymore and that is something which would bother me. But once again, thank you very much for the quick an thorough response. I’m going to get in contact with our Bimcollab support to see if they have any more info about this.

@yasmined If you could tell us what BimCollab support answers you, it would be great 🙂

              @Maxime-Sabbagh , @Sebastian-Nybäck
The support has let us know that the only solution would be to upgrade to Solibri 9.12 because they will not be implementing any more upgrades to the BCF Server connector of 9.10 or older. I’m going to call them tomorrow (helpdesk) to see if there is any way though to fix this, because I’ve even had the issue that I’m getting a synchronisation report which says that everything has been uploaded, but when opening the Bimcollab browser site I don’t see any new issues.
