    Re: Gatekeeper check

    Openingscheck, Gatekeeperrules, SOL/1/5.0

The rulesets which were mentioned in the earlier post from 2019 are not giving the desired results and hence I am creating this new post to get feedback from the ones, who have tried solving this problem.
We are trying to capture the clashes which arise because either

    • elements are not touching the voids, or
    • the voids have not been placed there or
    • the voids are not cutting the in-placed element like wall/slab, etc.

Important to keep in mind while checking is, that a long duct/pipe can pass at one instance but not necessarily have the voids at all defined interfaces, which is not helping me in achieving the desired results.

Attached are screenshots that showS&D_Step1.png S&D_Step2.png S&D_Step3.png the results/filter in each involved step but the last step is not giving desired results.

Has anyone used this way to get the results or is there any better way to get the desired results? Any help in this direction will be appreciated.

Thank you and Enjoy the Friday…

      Pipes_Voids_Walls.smc

Here is an example of using a General Intersection (SOL/1) parent gatekeeper and Component Distance-Max Distance (SOL/222) as the sub-rule.

This is similar to a solution I’ve found useful to requiring smoke/fire dampers where duct penetrates fire rated wall.

The parent gatekeeper checks for the intersection between the plumbing pipe (plumbing) and the wall (arch). It passes only those components that fail to be further checked that a void exists right next to it.

@john-lipp Thank you for sharing it.
The results I achieve using the above rule-set are not satisfying and above all, there are so many pipes, which won’t be near to a VOID always, and in that case, those pipes are also being captured under the issues.
Have you used any other method for achieving the results?!Results-1.png Results-with all voids.png

I have attached two images that show the captured results. You can see in the second picture, that the irrelevant pipes are also being checked for their distance from the void.

        Regards

          Hi @naveedzargar ,

I’ve shared one example how to check this in this thread, you could test if that would give you correct results: https://society.solibri.com/topic/289/gatekeeper-check/
