    We are trying to figure out how many people are using a 3D mouse out there, and also what providers are you using. If you are using a 3D mouse please comment on which model and provider you are using 🙂

    Please feel free to share any issues you might have experienced when using a 3D mouse. We are already looking into previous posts related to this topic 😉

    Thanks!

      I tried it with Revit. I experienced that I was moving my hands way more. This was because for every shortcut I was moving my hand back over the keyboard. Offcourse I could stop using keyboard shortcuts, but then it would take me more time to do my work.

        I’m a big fan of the 3D-Connection spacemouse. I own the “SpaceMouse Enterprise” and “SpaceMouse Compact” (for use with traveling) The Enterprise model has multiple buttons that can be customized for each software program. Mainly use the spacemouse for turning/rotating around a model to reduce the use of the mouse and thus prevent rsi complaints.

          @juan
          I don’t know if it qualifies as 3D mouse, but I use a Wacom 3D Pro pen.

          It isn’t perfectly supported by Solibri, but it is an overall wonderful tool for any 3D environment, that on top allows digital handwriting, notes, comments, etc.

            @m-groenewoud Seems that 3Dconnexion is the most popular provider for these 3D mice out there, at least out of my research. Does the mouse work to a certain degree with Solibri? If you can share any details it would be great, we are looking into what would be needed to support these type of mouse.

              @_c_ although now we are more looking into the limitations of 3D mouse, it would be good if you can share what is working and what is not working with that 3D pen 🙂

                @ricardo I’m assuming you are not using these type of mouse anymore?

                  a 3D Connexion was also on my plan last year. Since solibri was not supporting this device, I did not want to invest in something that would not have the full functionality. We discussed this issue here.

                  If you are going to implement this, I would be more than happy to finally get this 3d mouse.

                    No not at the moment, but I am always interested to help test some functionality. I have the 3Dconnexion spacemouse pro

                      Hi @juan,

                      Great to hear Solibri is exploring 3D mouse support! 🙂 At the moment Solibri doesn’t work with the 3D mouse yet. Operating the rotary knob only results in zooming in-out. But not with the precision I’m used to with programs that already support the 3D mouse.

                      I think the 3Dconnection team can be approached to provide the necessary support. There are regular driver updates for the 3D mouse, which often include support for new programs. It is therefore suspected that both Solibri and 3Dconnection will have to do some work to realize support.
