Parametric shape tessellation precision
-
Out of general interest (no issues with this currently), what defines the precision of tessellation for parametric IFC shapes in Solibri?
For other purposes, i made a comparison of straight ventilation duct segments, that had been defined in IFC as a BREP (face based mesh) and as an extrusion.
The extrusion meshes generated by Solibri have about 7 times the number of faces (the mesh duct by Magicad for Autocad use just 32 triangles, the ones created from extrusion in Solibri use 224). For most purposes, such a precise tessellation really doesn’t add anything useful. Is the tessellation adjusted for performance or is it fixed? On larger models this high a precision might put undue strain on lower performance computers?
