New CDE integration

hi everyone

I have a question about the new CDE integration. How is the workflow when someone is updating a modelversion with a version code in the CDE? how solibri knows, that from file AA there is a new version AB? can i update this file automatically?

normally, we store our files always withe the same file naming.

@chris The CDE integration is using the Documents API standard by BuildingSmart.

If you’ve turned on the automatic or prompt updates, Solibri will frequently poll the CDE to see if there are new versions of the models. If a new version of a document (i.e., a file) is uploaded to the CDE, Solibri will know about it through the call and then either give a prompt to you or update the model automatically, depending on the settings.

@chris If you are using Bimsync as a CDE, this is done automatically. The models in Solibri are linked directly to a document or model slot, so when a new revision is uploaded to the document, it updates automatically in Solibri.
