    Hi Guys!

I want to test the checking duration of different computer configurations (RAM, CPU) with the same model. Do you have an idea how I can best determine the checking duration? The start of the check is not a problem. But the end of the check would be interesting.

    Best regards
    Bjorn

Interesting topic since I have never dived deeper into which resources Solibri uses to do the checking. Maybe just because the checking of the whole ruleset took just a couple of seconds to maybe a minute or so.
Isn’t time what decides how your resources are handling the checking?
What do you want to optimize with this: reduce hours, minutes or are we talking about seconds?

For most of the projects the check takes 1-20min but at some really large projects (approx. 210.000 elements) it takes on my Apple MacBook Pro 13" 2019 8h
(2,4 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB DDR3, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655). The same project takes 5h to check on my private pc
        (AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8x 3.6GHz / 4.4GHz Turbo), 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, 8GB KFA RTX2080Super EX).
And also the navigation in the 3D-Model is also little bit slowly on my MacBook. So I would like to compare different components and track the checking time to see which changes have the biggest impact to find the best configuration.

One difference between these computers is the amount of memory. The PC has twice as much memory. If you have a huge model, the checking may take longer. Also the PC may have more cores and use more threads in checking.

On the other hand, having such a long check time might be something that we might be able to optimize, if you can share the model with us. What are the checks that take most of the time?

to be honest, 5h on a workstation and 8h on a laptop…still it is way too long to check!
On the other hand more then 200k elements is also not the lightest model.

I have a model with around 50k and it takes me up to 10min running on [email protected] and 32Gb RAM.
I think it also depends which rules are you using since in my experience some take much faster time then others.
