    Hi,

I´m currently working with very large smc. files (400+MB).
While having one of these files open my RAM (32GB) utilization (only solibri) is normally between 50 to 80%.

    Is this a normal behavior?
    Has anybody else identical behavior?

These are my settings, maybe something is set wrong? (sorry solibri is in german)

    Thank you!

      Hi!

I’m experiencing the same thing in a same sized file. As far as I have understood, it is normal behavior for a model of this size. I have not found a solution that does not include increasing the RAM in your computer. Of course, if someone know of a way to optimize the RAM usage in Solibri without performance loss , it would be a greatly welcomed enlightenment.

You can set the memory Solibri uses through te vmoptions. That helps!

@JeroenKoomen Thank you for your response, that sure is one way that works.
Unfortunately, that is something that I already have set as high as possible without crashing windows.

I think that what OP and I more was after, was for a way to optimize the RAM usage by Solibri in larger models (without adding more RAM), since the utilization is is quite high and limits the number of other running programs.
Might be that what (at least) I am asking, is not possible.

@jeroenkoomen Thanks for the Tipp, i tried that as well. But as @Sebastian-Nybäck said it thought maybe there is a way so that the RAM usage can be optimized more. But it seems that the only option for now would to install more RAM but because I´m working on a laptop that will not be possible.
