Working within the Classification manager in models with 100k+ elements tend to get super slow. I do understand that the classification process is intensive to calculate, but I can’t unload all the models for this process or outsource it every time to excel. Might there be any chance that the performence gets better e.g. by disabling the calculations while working within the window and updates are just done after pressing ok?

Yes, a simple “On/Off” switch and an “Apply” button would be great.

Have you tried the enable/disable visualization button? Does that have any effect for you?

That has a massive effect and is the first thing I switch off. 🙂

It is switched of and I still suffer from tremendous lags.

(How) have you tried to optimize the classifications so far?

Example: we have one classification that is quite heavy (NL-SfB coding). For 1 really big project, we split them up in 2 seperate classifications. We use the 2nd one for viewing, the first is just for the background classification. For some reason that helped in speeding up things.

Our classifications rely quite heavily on the use of model categories in the model tree or models that have a specific name.

On average our completed projects are around 100k elements, but I can’t remember that we have experienced the same things you guys do…

In this case tbh not really, as the goal here is to map almost all the elements in a specific customer classification - which is still changing a lot. I guess using multiple classifications to break it down into pieces first might always be a good approach but in this case I needed/wanted to have it all in one to have a better overview and flexibility.

So yeah I think the idea of an “Apply” button which also prevents that changes automatically go into effect while the window is still open might be a good idea. Plus, btw when you have the window open and then change tab it just closes without any notice and all your changes are gone without any warning. This should not happen as well!
