Anyone else have a problem with Solibri not supporting newer DWG files when adding new models to Solibri Office?

Hi. The DWG importer we use is from 2014, so this is somewhat expected currently. I would recommend using IFC if possible.

Same here DWG’s never load in, now I know why.
I always add PDF files instead.

I do try to load IFC files, but some trades can’t export to IFC and send me a DWG file; usually sprinkler contractors.
I think I have been very patient waiting 7 years for some sort of DWG support.

Part of the problem is that the DWG is not an open file format, but undocumented and proprietary. While it is possible to achieve some level of reading capabilities for such files, it makes it unnecessarily hard. Especially being able to read different versions of such files.

              Hi @Solibrians

are there any improvements regarding dwg import? Solibri still doesn’t seem to support the latest versions of Autocad but only the 2013 (as it is written here https://www.solibri.com/learn/working-with-auto-cad-and-smc).

              Thanks
              Paola

                Hi @paola-bronzo,

DWG support has been an issue for us for a while, however we are currently discussing how to improve it so hopefully can update you soon with our plan.

@lraimo Solibri supports PDFs. Could you convert your drawings to PDF?

Yes, but PDFs in Solibri are quite slow and you have to manually align them
