Same file with several licences

Hi Solibrians!

Does anyone know if it is possibile to work at the same time with the same file with different licences.
I mean working simultaneously, together with a colleague, on a very large audit, thus halving the verifying time.

Not really. You could split the model (or better the ruleset) and work with a bcf server. However this is not really a clean workflow - actually quite the opposite - and to answer your question you can’t work at the same time in a “central model”.

As to my knowledge, you can’t work in the same file. If you work with online storage software like Google Drive, Dropbox etc. you can both open the same file, but it will likely result in a corrupt file when you start saving together. That is why we make a copy of the .SMC file if we need multiple users working together in the same project. It requires communication between the users who is responsible for updating models etc.
Since the implementation of the BCF live connector, working together got better, but a central file would be the best solution in my opinion.

Hi. It is true that currently in 9.12 versions working on the same file is problematic. An upcoming version brings improvements to this (https://society.solibri.com/topic/1194/upcoming-solibri-version-testers-wanted) allowing concurrent usage of a single project file. It does not yet provide any warnings for concurrent changes, but if users coordinate, it is possible to work with a single file. And later versions can bring better coordination to this (based on demand).
