Clash location
-
Hi all.
is it possible to get the location where two elements clash each other?
the reason is that i need to know if there is a void have been placed where the pipe goes through a wall.
i have tried the gatekeeper rules but it didnt work in all situations like when a pipe clashes with two walls…it needs two voids but because it has only one it get excluded from the clash.
so i thought if i can get the location of the clash i can place objects at that location and clash it with all the voids in the project.

Hi,
This is exactly what we are working on in the UK with our Fire stopping ruleset. The first part of the rule will check for services clashing with compartmentation walls and floors. It will find the clashes between these services and also openings. We have also worked on where there may be sudo openings i.e. no opening component so therefore no clash.It has an option to check that each intersection has the provision of a fire seal.
When Fire seal objects are provided then you can check the position of these relative to each other, sizes, position within the wall / floor and finally the location of services within these fire seals. We are currently in the process of checking the suitability of the Fire seal to the supporting construction (based on your input from manufacturer data) and then refining the distances between services along with reporting the fire stopping data from the model for the project to provide key data for part of the golden thread.
Once this is released you will be able to use this rule template to achieve your requirement.
We are working on this each week as we are keen to release this to the user base but as you can imagine the whole process is quite challenging to ensure we cover every angle so that it creates a good set of results.

@naveedzargar
thank you i will try it -
it’s really important to have something like that.
i was able to solve this problem using Dynamo by generating a small spheres at the centers of the areas where the pipe/duct intersect with a wall/floor and then clashing them with the voids. But it did’t work for big projects because it’s too much to the computer it takes hours to calculate and it freeze at the end. but in Solibri the geometries are different and lighter from revit and it is much faster. so hopefully something like that will be released soon. -

Is there already a timeframe set for the scheduled release?
And will there be more options on the result hierachy listing so to actually get the possibility to e.g. group results by building story, spaces, … the actual clash location?Also suggested once here:
