    Wondering why an IfcElectricalElement is considered as the Solibri component ‘Light Fixture’ in IFC2x3?

    Although the class is deprecated in IFC2x3, and it should not be used anymore, it is still an existing class in IFC2x3.

    http://standards.buildingsmart.org/IFC/RELEASE/IFC2x3/TC1/HTML/ifcproductextension/lexical/ifcelectricalelement.htm

    Attached: an IFC2x3CV2.0 sample with an IfcElectricalElement and an IfcLightFixtureType.

      @dvrvb

      Thanks for reporting this.
      Solibri doesn’t have 100% 1 to 1 mapping.
      We will change IfcElectricalElement imported as Electric Appliance.
      It is the closest match.

        Yes indeed, that would probably be a more appropriate mapping. Thx!

          Maybe Distribution Element will be the right entity

            @BvanDalsum
            Indeed, seems even better to use the generic class IfcDistributionElement.

                Solibri 9.13.5 has been released!

                Changed to import IfcElectricalElement as Electrical Appliance instead of Light Fixture.
