Updating Selection Sets
-
I have this workflow to create and update Selection Sets for the entire team. Some only use the Solibri Anywhere version, with limited options. We use Selection Sets to show relevant information. But also to distinguish between design and as-built information.
Early design objects are given a classification. And eventually a double classification to indicate that as-build information is available. Each time I update the Selection Set with new as-build IFC files and remove early design objects using the updated classification.
Of course this project is getting bigger. And there is many detail available in this project. We have 56,000 objects in the most commonly used Selection Set. It seems like the update isn’t working completely flawlessly the last time I checked. I tried remove the design phase Curtain Wall objects from the Selection Set. And tried to update and save the Selection Set. But it didn’t really update when I saved the Selection Set. There was also no warning that it did fail. I also tried to create a new Selection Set, but that also failed.
Are there limits to the Selection Set that I should take into account?
And is there a better way to help an entire team to view and collect relevant information on the fly? -
Just an update on my workflow.
I first update and save my Selection Set. But when I select my updated Selection Set. I see objects that are NOT in my Selection Set. And are not a part of the current Selection Basket. That is incorrect behavior.
So in the Selection Basket Window I select all objects that áre in the Selection Basket. I conform again with =. Objects in the 3D view disapear. And I save my Selection Set again. From this moment on the Selection Set works again as expected.
This does not make sense and feels like a bug.
