    Hi,

i have recently noticed that the classification will not show new elements from the updated model – somehow, they are shown as unclassified. But the elements are nonetheless classified, according to the information window, and they are also checked when I check them in a Rule.

They are added to the classification when I make a copy of the classification – in both the original and copied classification. Is this Problem known?

you can test it with the 2 Models: a01.ifc has fewer beams and coloumns then a02.ifc

I can confirm. We have observed similiar concering classification behaviour in the past.

The good thing here is, that the elements indeed seem to be properly classified as your screenshot shows.
However the classification view is not updated - though eventually the “Unclassified” category (if selected in settings) gets added to the entry list on a model update. So the UX seems to be definitely repainting but at the same time misleading.

Also, if I remember correctly a simple save and re-open of the .smc after update also fixes this bug. The classification view seems to be showing valid information then.

On the other side, compared to issues of the past, a simple open and close of the classifications without any changes does not fix anything. So e.g. you have to tick a checkbox or modify the filter that there is a real re-run of the classification process. This is tricky.

This is really causing some confusion because I can imagine that lot of people have a hard time as well understanding now what’s really classified and what is not.

Can confirm that this issue still happens. Also inconsistencies between classification showing classified and ITO made with same classification as column showing unclassified…
