Solibri issues with Magic Mouse double clicks
-
Somehow Solibri doesn’t accept double clicks made with the apple mouse.
It’s happening in the open file window and in the classifications editor.Whenever I need to perform a double click, it’s only accepted when I do it at a certain speed (Of course, I haven’t been able to figure out what speed that is.) However, when I switch to a normal wheelmouse or the macbook trackpad, there are no problems with double clicks any more, it’s just happening with the apple mouse.
(of course I checked, wether there are issues in other apps - finder for example, but I only have magic mouse problems using solibri)
Anyone else facing similar issues?
And, anyone else been able to solve it?

I have started to navigate with the enter key in any Solibri File dialog, as the double-clicking on folders often doesn’t prove successful.
And I have a few hiccups sometimes with entering text in dialogs (in Solibri, but also in Yed, another Java-based software). Not sure if that is related. Selecting text, but when typing it always overrides the selected text.
I’m on MacOS and use a Magic Mouse as well…

Selecting and pressing Enter is a workaround.
Solibri is using Java JFileChooser. There is a way to disable rename totally in case this super bad. Personally I have not seen this a big problem on Windows. -

It may have to do with the design and/or the technology the mouse is using. It can depend on the way user is holding/using the mouse. It’s DPI.
For example, depending on implementation of both software and hardware, double click can fail to register when the mouse moved between clicks. The DPI of the mouse and resolution of the screen, and sensitivity of the sensor can affect it. Some software can try to mitigate it by defining the area around mouse cursor that still registers second click as second even when the mouse was moved. This is done in Solibri in 3D View for example.

What exact problem are you facing. Do you double click and nothing happens? Or Do you face the same problem when you ‘accidentally’ rename the file/folder?
Selecting text, but when typing it always overrides the selected text.
This seems to work as intended. Typing over selected text should remove the selected text.

Windows the File dialog also requires a certain (slow) double-click speed to successfully open files. If you double click too fast, you will start to edit file-names…
In Windows Explorer the functionality of renaming a file/folder simply works by clicking already selected item. It does not matter how much times passes between clicks unless you mange to click it fast enough (double click speed can be actually adjusted in Windows mouse settings) then it opens it.
You can try changing the double click speed to slower.
Unfortunately this Windows Setting is not affecting double-click times in Solibri.
You cannot even disable it in Windows:
