I’m quite new to Solibri. I’ve been watching the tutorials about rulesets, but still finding it quite hard to achieve the results that I want. One issue that I have, is that I have a model of multi-storey building, but I would like to check only one storey. What is the easiest way to achieve this? In general, where can I find information of the sample rules, what they can be used for?

Most rules have Filter in Parameters View.

Filter can be powerful tool that can help with checking specific components.

As an example, Rule #226 - Free Are in Front of Components:

In the Parameters of this Rule a Filter can be set up, so that it will only check components from specified floor:

I’ve already read some articles, but it seems this one has the answers to many of my questions:

OK! This filtering seems to be a really good tool! I’m wondering, if I want to check several rulesets, is it better to filter all of them individually or is there an easy way to create a gatekeeper rule that filters all of them? Thinking ahead, what happens when I want to change / expand the checked portion of the model? What happens to the old issues if I change the rulesets?

Yes, Gatekeeper Rules are the way to go if you want scalability.

Continuing with the 2nd floor example, Gatekeeper Rule would be #230 Property Rule Template with Component Filters.

You set it up in Ruleset Manager.

When you change the checked portion of the model or the rulesets, you should re-run the checks. Old issues from previous checks may become outdated or disconnected, so always review and update issues after making such changes.
