How I almost ruined my day solely because of a little typo ....
-
I saved a file with a type using : instead of _ so e.g. “Solibri Building:New.smc” instead of “Solibri Building_New.smc”.
Still, there is no error and it looks like it is saving … also the name changes …

However the next time I want to save, let’s say “Solibri Building_2.smc” I get indeed an error …

2025-09-03 15:46:11.470+0200 [Save as model] ERROR c.s.s.p.m.actions.SaveAsModelAction - Error in Save As java.io.IOException: java.nio.file.InvalidPathException: Illegal char <:> at index 45: C:\Users\....\Solibri Building:New.smcIt turns out the previous file was never saved - and no warning was given!

But it looks like I am lucky cause I did not close the file prior to the second save and despite the warning and cofusing message I got a second file which seems to be fine …

… but if I would have closed Solibri in between I probably would be ******
Maybe this should be adressed as this can cause a lot of headaches!
