Classification Categories - Setting for Clicking on "Folders" to optimize Performance

Currently, clicking on classification categories is unnecessarily slow because Solibri tries to visualize everything immediately. In most cases, we don’t even want this behavior for categories.

What we actually want while navigating is simply to expand or collapse categories. However, since categories auto-collapse after every update (see: https://society.solibri.com/topic/1968/updating-a-classifcation-collapses-folders?=1764590526583), navigating becomes tedious. The arrow to expand a category is also very small, so it’s easy to miss — and one misclick triggers a time-consuming visualization. The same happens when navigating with the keyboard: if visualization is enabled, it triggers automatically, even though visualization is usually only helpful for classification items themselves (see: https://society.solibri.com/topic/3428/classification-browser-performance-boost-enable-disable-preview-on-demand-with-modified-shortcut-key?=1764590526591).

To avoid these time-consuming accidental visualizations, I would suggest giving users control over this behavior.

Some users might find it useful if a category triggers a “combined view” of its contained classifications, but I’m not sure how common that workflow actually is. Making this behavior optional would accommodate both use cases:

• Users who want categories to trigger visualization can enable it.
• Users who only want to expand/collapse categories can disable it and navigate efficiently without interruptions.

My opinion is thatdisable the eye is sufficient.
I must admit that I also find it annoying that it immediately becomes visible as soon as you click on it.
That’s why disable the eye is the first thing I do.
