    I’m using SOL/231/1.6 in order to check Stairs and their Handrails. Given that Handrail are near the Stairs, there should be a relation between those two objects. But there is non!
    An Alternative to SOL/231/1.6 would be SOL/210/3.1. But also no relation was found.

    In which way does these objects have to be modeled, so that there is a correct relation?

    Thanks,
    Lukas

      @lukashuber

      Can you see this kind of “decomposes” relation between the stairs and railings:

      This is how it is shown in Solibri when the relation is exported into the ifc file. If you see the relation and can explain what the check should do i can help with the rule creation. Do you have an example model to test with?

      If the relation is not in the ifc file i suggest you find out from the authoring tool side how the export should be done,

      thanks,
      Lauri

        @Lauri-Luoma
        Yes, the Problem is that there is no relation at all.

        There you can see. The only relation the Stairs have is the Spaces (“Raum” in german) surrounding them.

          I believe this is not a problem of Solibri that there is not relation. This is a general rule in the IFC structure that this relation does not exist, hence not connection.
          The Handrail has a relation with the spatial container or better to say with the IfcSpace. Not even a wall that is attached to.
          May I ask, for you purpose would this relation be helpful for your cheking? Only to see if a stair has a railing?

            Yes i am also sure that this is no Problem of Solbri.
            So the Question is how to model the Stair in the CADProgramm in order to get to these Relations.

            The aim is the check for an additional Handrail above a certain width of stairs.
            Doing this by unsing Relations would be an easy and redundant Way to check.
