    Hello, everyone,

how do you update your IFC model data in Solibri?

    1. Select the model in the model structure, right click, update model

    or

    1. You delete the respective model from the model tree and add the new updated model file again.

My question has the following background. By chance it happened in two independent projects using variant 1) that old parts, which are actually no longer in the updated model, are still displayed in the 3D view or that although the new IFC file contained a shift in the coordinates, this was not taken into account in the update and therefore the model is still at the previous position in solibri.

Have you already seen something similar and do you know what could be the reason?

Looking forward to the discussion and tips.

    Best regards

    Stephena

      I use only option Nr.1.
Even if the changes are very big to a certain model, including the position, I always reload the new information. Deleting it brings other problems such as defining the category, prefixes and maybe colors of the model.

Did you check those wrong elements in another viewer?
Maybe in your BIM authoring tool they are correct, but something is happening during IFC Export.

        Allways update models.

we put all models on prompt in the update settings so we get a notification and we can control when we want the model to update.

Thank you very much for your answers. I always use option number 1 myself and simply superimpose the data set in other viewers to be on the safe side. There everything is displayed correctly. Number 2 is then only the solution to this problem for now (if one even notices the problem, which is almost impossible for larger projects).

I’ll wait for further feedback, maybe someone else has this problem.

          Thanks a lot
