    Hello solibri society, I don’t understand which is the differences between the Ifc Entity, IfcType and the underlined in yellow on the left picture’s corner. Could you please explains me to what it refers to ?

        The IFC schema provides a way to describe building elements that frequently occur within a project (like beams with
        a certain profile, etc.) more efficiently by reusable types. Such a “template” of an element is defined as Type and can then be instantiated and adapted accordingly. As a result, only the different data needs to be adapted for the actual component , for example, the spatial location of the object or its relationship to a neighboring building element, while the other basic parameters remain unchanged.         In Solibri, the IFC Type Attribute indicates if a component is derived from such a type object. You can find more details if you also check the relations, which also store this information:

        The “Defined by Type” relation shows detailed information about this type:

        When you double-click on the relationship, you will see the information of the actual type object, which is an instance of an IfcDuctSegmentType:
