Hi, I’m currently working on connecting Solibri Office to a local CDE using the OpenCDE Documents API. I followed the documentation (https://help.solibri.com/hc/en-us/articles/10233885447447-Using-the-Documents-API-Integration) and found the place in Solibri where I can establish a connection using the OpenCDE Documents API. However, I can only select certain providers from a list (e.g., Aconex, Bimsync, Catenda, etc.), but I can’t specify a specific server directly. I’m wondering how this works and if it’s even possible.

Can the list of OpenCDE Documents API servers be expanded via configuration, or does this require development effort? Is there any documentation for this?

The list of the servers with server information is now fetched from Solibri backend.
Currently It is not possible to configure your own local server.
We could add this possibility, this would help also BCF Server developers.
      What CDE are you using?

        Thank you for your reply.

We are currently working on developing CDE functionality for customers as an on-premises solution using the OpenCDE API standards (Foundation API, BCF API, Documents API, etc.). Therefore, it is important to us that the corresponding API endpoints are also configurable in the software, and it would be great if this were possible.
It seems that at least the BCF LIVE CONNECTOR is sufficiently configurable to enable the use of a local CDE. Can you confirm this?

Currently It is not possible to configure your own local BCF server.
The developers have used our beta environment for testing.
This method is not suitable for on-premises servers.

            Hello!

Solibri now supports local/private CDE and BCF connections. Please try out the beta and let us know how it looks!

Hi, this functionality was released (https://www.solibri.com/articles/solibri-25-12-0-release-notes#:~:text=Support for Custom%2C Private CDEs and BCF connections%3A) but I can’t find any information on how to create the configuration file. Does anyone know where I can find this? I already tried the e-mail pointed as support, but didn’t get any reply.

                    Hello!

Solibri handles the creation of the configuration files for custom, private connections and provides those to you. The email to use for that is [email protected], I checked now but didn’t see anything in the inbox from your Society linked email.

In short, our local/private connections support bSI standards (Foundation, OpenCDE and BCF), so as long as the private connection is built following those standards, we can support that in Solibri.

For all new connections (private and public), we first test in BETA before going live in production. Overall for a private connection this doesn’t really matter to us, but we follow the same procedure anyway and allow you to test in beta. Anyone who will be testing on your end needs to be enrolled in beta, for which we grant beta licenses during the development stage.

Instructions for joining BETA are here:

                    https://society.solibri.com/topic/2907/we-are-moving-join-our-new-solibri-beta-group?_=1745590197148

In order to add a server (public or private), we need the following information about the server:

                    • Name: MyProjectServer
                    • URL: https://api.myproject.com
                    • Client ID: 12345-client-id-sample
                    • Client Secret: abcde12345secretkey
                    • Scopes: read, write, manage
                    • Flavor: bcf1.0 or bcf2.0

Once you provide these, we’ll send over a config file to be loaded in Solibri, and you can then select the private connection and begin testing.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

                    Kind regards,

                    Toni
