    Hi,
are there any guidelines for Solibri, how to tweak the performance for models having high detailed geometry (plenty of triangles) and physically large extents?

We have a lot of trouble with non-responsive UIs (even black for minutes). The frontend seems to be blocked by some background activities. Especially while investigating found issues, It takes several minutes to focus a found issue (select and synchronize with 3D view, or even to unfold the rule result).

    What we have:

    • approx. 20 IFC4 domain models (landscapes with triangulated facesets, roadworks, construction etc.) with 1GB physical file size in total
    • simple property checks (no geometry checks) to highlight components with missing properties.

    What we’ve done so far:

    • increased the heap space for solibri to 12GB (out of 16GB available) whereas 10Gb are approximately in use

No solution unfortunately, but I am in the same boat as you.

      Approximately 0,5GB SMC-Model consisting of 67 ifc-models.

      Computer specs are:
      i7 8700K CPU
      128GB Ram
      1TB SSD, 12TB SATA
      Quadro RTX 4000

Computer struggles with the model, also tested in identical computer straight out of factory, same problems. Takes me forever to add slides in collision controls for example.
Overall laggy and slow, drives me crazy.

Adjusted so Solibri can use 110 out of 128GB Ram

      Hope someone can help

Thanks for these hints! After testing some alternative model layouts (removing partial models), we found that it’s not an issue of graphics (or triangle count at all). It has been an issue of structural (hierarchical) depth of models. There was model of an road & infrastructure design platform, which exports storey in storey in storey and so on. Somehow Solibri gets confused by this modelling strategy (I’m too). Once we removed that model, it started to work fine again.
