I don’t understand how to use the Presentation Prefix. I can set it up, but then I see it nowhere. The help states:

If you wish, give the presentation a prefix. Prefix of a presentation is used to differentiate issues between presentations. It can be any alphanumeric string; the system automatically appends a unique number to issues in the presentation.**

Where is this visible? What is it meant with “Differentiate issues between presentations”?

… still trying to figure out how to organize issues in a large project.

I hope the pictures will help. There will be autogenerated tracking ID which can be different in each presentation.

Thank you so much for your fast answer, it is really great the kind of support you developer are giving here.

A thing that I noticed, is that using prefixes in the presentations allows me to create duplicates of the issues that keep the triangle (link to the rules/model).
If we only use copy-paste, the link obviously is lost.

The tracking ID is always and forever incremental, isn’t it? Is not overwritten upon re-running rules?

The prefix could then be used to create multiple presentations. Very indirect, but somehow a possibility.

Matti, do you have somewhere a list of the events leading to un-linking of issues?

          • Tracking ID = PREFIX + NUMBER.
          • Tracking ID is not overwritten.
          • The NUMBER is unique in the model, incremental, starting from 1.
          • NOTE: Tracking ID is not in BCF standard

The prefix could then be used to create multiple presentations. Very indirect, but somehow a possibility.

          • The same prefix can be used for multiple presentations.
          • Can be changed later.

At least in these two cases:

          • When ruleset is removed.
          • When the checking result is no more present (issue fixed or parameters of the rule are changed).
