Sync Status BimCollab
-
Hi! I have Sync Status issues between Solibri and BimCollab.
When I try to synchronize the issues, none come up on bimcollab and the two arrows in a circle are there forever in Solibri BCF Live connector…I have had that problem before and solved it by changing the title of the issue which was either too long or with special characters but this time it doesn’t do anything… and ALL my issues cannot synchronize. Anyt idea?
Regards, David.

Hi @dkdacv ,
Some tips that can perhaps help you:
- Try resetting the connection. (don’t forget the ‘s’, httpS://…bimcollab.com)
- Are you using automatic synchronization? try turning this off and manually synchronizing.
- It’s possible your issues contain too many elements

@LauraVDH The connection works fine, I can synchronize the previous issues etc. And I have reset it several times.
I am using manual synchronization.
That can’t be possible, some only contains 2-3 elements.I have been in contact with Solibri support and they also can’t solve it. I have made a BCF file and imported the issues manually… So I give up for now, it works on other projects so… weird.

We have also encountered the same phenomena. As a work-around we started to use manual bcf imports to BIMCollab.
And I am staring to notice a similar behavior with a few issues while syncing to Dalux. We simply have not have had the time to try and figure it out anymore. Below is what we tried-Connections, Solibris and computers have been restarted several times. The address has been furiously checked and re-entered many times without success.
-Manual sync only. Automatic is not that useful for us.
-I have a problem thinking that the issues contain too many elements. We have been able to sync issues with more elements. There is no obvious pattern afaik. And while on the subject of synchronizing, the connection to Dalux is "autenticate connection every 5-10 sec (really not fun). Also the filtering of issues with Dalux does not work correctly. If I filter for A it works for 10 sec, then after 10 sec everything else will also come to the BCF Live view in Solibri.

@dkdacv Could you send your debug logs? Do the following:
- Open the .vmoptions file in the Solibri installation folder in a text editor
- Add the following line:
-Dlogging_level=DEBUG - Save
- Open Solibri
- Duplicate the problem
- Send the runtime.log file from the log folder

One issue I know of (no idea if this applies to you @dkdacv and @Seba), at least with Dalux (reported to both Solibri and Dalux a long time ago
) is that sync will be blocked when both the title and the description field are identical between multiple slide/BCF.Only one issue will sync, all the others will not.
And about this:

Totally agree. Today I worked 3h on BCF management. Solibri opened 700 authentification tabs. So I lost about 3s each time => about half an hour (!!!) and a lot of nerves.
Losing 15% of my time is not something I’m fond of.

The problem with Dalux authentication is identified and fixed in our next release. In the meanwhile, turn off BCF Live Connector, when you’re working on something else.

@Pasi-Paasiala thanks, that’s great!

Unfortunately this is not always a viable solution. I am only going through a lot of BCF, and filtering the query currently doesn’t work, so each time I connect I have to wait until hundreds (if not thousands) of comments are imported. So it will be often better to get along with the constant authentication rather than switching the live connector OFF and ON again.

The problem is probably that there are too many characters in the text (title or description—or both). I often encounter synchronization errors when too many elements are affected, as this usually results in the text/description being too long. Apparently, the maximum number of characters in BIMcollab is lower than in Solibri. In my opinion, this should be adjusted or reduced to prevent synchronization errors.
