Help required - Schedule of quantities and Embodied Carbon
-
Hi
I am very very very new to Solibri, and have an assignment to complete. I can do the first part, but I am getting really stuck on how to complete a schedule of quantities and calculate the embodied carbon in the building. Is there any guidance documents or the like out there for me to look at? I cant find anything on the web. For clarity, the question is as follows:
"*3.a) Create a schedule of quantities for materials listed in Appendix ‘B.’ You will need to use take-off tools in Solibri to tally volumes of material and calculate the embodied carbon. You will also need to create a 3D visualisation of the materials, showing the locations of each material, one-by-one, in 3D. Combine these slides into a presentation in Solibri. Analyse the Embodied Carbon of your design (using the CO2 numbers listed in Appendix ‘D’) for the selected materials.
3.b) Re-deign your building and propose design changes that will reduce your carbon footprint by at least 10%. Create a second version your Schedule of Quantities & Carbon Visualisation saving them as new files.*"
I am struggling on the above not only because I am net to the software, but as I am stuck at home due to COVID restrictions and I am unable to attend class in person. Whilst the video classes help, I am still stuck on how to do this so any help would be truely appreciated!
For clarity, I have already designed a small, two storey commercial building in Revit, which includes parameters that will facilitate phase planning.
Thanks again,
Rod

Hi Rod,
Here are some tips but the main tip is to try as much as possible.
- Use the Solibri helpcenter for basic information
Here is an article about understanding and creating an information Take-Off (which you need for you schedule): https://help.solibri.com/hc/en-us/sections/1500000632561-Quantity-and-Information-Takeoff - Play around with the columns in the ITO. What happens when adding a column, changing the sequence of the columns and turning the option “grouping” on/off for a column.
- Any information in a property set (these are the tabs in the info view with grey/blue header tekst) can be added to an ITO by choosing the column type “property set”.
- Consider using a classification to “group” your materials how you like them (https://help.solibri.com/hc/en-us/sections/1500000614901-Classification)
- In the helpcenter you can also find information about making a presentation from an Information Take-Off
Good luck.
