Creating viewpoints through BCF Live Connector

Hi,

when creating and syncing a new viewpoint through the BCF Live Connector, it will first send a PUT topic request. Only if the topic with the new modified date is returned, it will send the POST viewpoint request.

Why is that? We would perfer not to change the modified date, if nothing is actually modified. And before sending the POST viewpoint request, there is no way of knowing, that the topic in fact will be modified.
This behaviour forces us to update the modified date. Everytime PUT topic is called. Otherwise creating a viewpoint is not possible. Is there something I’m missing?

Also if there is already a thread on bcf api developement, feel free to point me into the right direction.
