    Hello,

I’m having issues with the BCF Live Connector. When I try to load 80 issues from BimCollab (I filter by active issues), it takes 20 minutes. Is anyone else experiencing this, and are there any settings that can help speed things up?

    Kind regards,

    ELlen

      Hi,

I can confirm that I’m experiencing the same issues while working with Solibri and the BCF server. The main problem seems to be that the 3D view in Solibri freezes.

Interestingly, the images attached to the issue still respond correctly and can be enlarged when clicked, but the actual 3D Solibri window remains frozen and does not update for quite some time.

So far, this behavior has been consistent on my side as well, since the latest release.

      Best regards,
      Martijn

        Hello!

20 mins sounds crazy slow… That is definitely not as designed. @ellen-de-mol are you also on the latest version 26.4.1? @M-Groenewoud is there anything specific or unique about the cases in which Solibri freezes? Or is the slowness on all issues?

        Kind regards,

        Toni

One more thing, would you be able to confirm: Does the sluggishness happen as well if you select a local issue in communication? Or is this specifically related to BCF Live?

            Hi @tonigyllenberg ,

The slowness and freezes in the 3D view only occur when using BCF Live. Switching between local slides in presentations works without any issues.

When switching between issues in BCF Live, it may work fine at first, but at other times it freezes. In those cases, the 3D view does not update to the newly selected issue. It can take several minutes before the view finally updates.

As mentioned earlier, the image attached to the issue remains responsive during the freeze and can still be opened in an enlarged view.
At the same time, I notice that my laptop’s cooling fans ramp up to full performance mode.

Thanks for looking into this issue!

            Kind regards,
            Martijn

My problem is a little different from Martijn’s. Before I can even see the issues in BCF LIVE it takes 20 minutes to load them after I turned on the connector. The screen totally turns ‘white’ for 20mins. After that, I can see the issues and start to work with them without any problems.

Okay, thanks for the additional information. So far we’ve tested and looked at:

                1. Our normal (small) test project with over 350 issues in BIMcollab.
                • Connection and loading of all of these was less than 3 mins.
                • Filtering as active (228 issues) went very swiftly, no hesitation at all
                1. A very complex model with multiple different presentations and local issues
                • Initially selecting issues with PDF underlays took some seconds (6-9 seconds) on the first selection, during which the 3D was frozen. After that, selecting the same issues happens quite fast.

We did discover an optimization that will be made for the June release, which relates to the added functionality for grids, sections and texts in 26.4 versions. If the issues in question have plenty of grids and texts, the 3D rendering is taking more time now. Stay tuned for the upcoming beta, coming on the 9th of June. It would be great to have feedback directly on this.

                Kind regards,

                Toni

This sounds very strange. Could you please report this to [email protected] and include the following information:

                  • Solibri version
                  • Operating system and version
                  • log files
                  • Specific information on exactly when this has occured. It would be good to reproduce the issue and send a video, and then log the time and date so that we can review the log files for more information.
                  • If at all possible, a test model would help too!

                  Kind regards,

                  Toni

At 20:24 I started the bcf live connector to import 77 active issues. I took the first picture at 20:27. At 20:28 my screen went white until 20:47. So it took 23 minutes to load… I’ll sent an email to [email protected].

Thanks @ellen-de-mol for the screenshots, this indeed looks to be more serious than just BCF Live, as your entire instance is going completely blank. I can’t say I’ve seen this before, so definitely something we need to look into. I’ll check with support on the details.
