    Hey, I have a question related to the Role Management,

    We have various users in different regions and want them to be always up to date concerning the latest ruleset and classification developements.
    However this is only working if we can have absolut Server File Paths as Resource Root Path stored in the Role as the user’s drive letter assignment is varying accross the company and therefore leading to problems.

    I have not managed it to change this yet to a value e.g. like "\\AT-VIE-SRV-ABCD\CREW\Templates\ "

    Any advice on how to achieve that?

      @JSN Hi - full server URLs can be used within the Role file to achieve what you are suggesting (I do this for our teams too), but for an unknown reason the slashes in the address have to be the other way around. In the example you provide, open the Role file in a text editor, find the Resource Path line near the top and change the line to this:

      <root>//AT-VIE-SRV-ABCD/CREW/Templates</root>

      …noting the slashes are now the other way around, and there is no slash to close that last folder. This will then let any user use that central location regardless of their own folder mapping.

      Hope this helps!

        Yes, taking your advice about the slash orientation into consideration, finally did the job!
        Your help is much appreciated!

          Coming back to this now again as I am asking myself if there is also a way to detect and substitute profile/user names in the root path?

          Currently it’s
          <root>…/…/…/JSN/OneDrive/Subfolder/and so on/FinalSaveLoacation</root>

          but due to a differen setup there is no absolute (server) path any more and this means every user has to manually change the user.name part of the role so that the root path suits their needs again. Any ideas to make this smarter?

            @JSN

            A workaround with your Role, rulesets and classifications would be to use a Solibri Extension. With the right license you can create multiple extensions and your collegeaus can install these by themselves from the Solibri Solution Center.

            Unfortunately you will still have issues while updating models because these paths are also different because of the user names.

              I have never used the company extensions but afair you have to upload the packages to solution center everytime when you change something. Whether the advantage of roles is that you simply can overwrite existing ressources in the repository and the most recent ones are automatically loaded without any further changes or actions nedded of the relevant users and the roles they use.

              Tbh I am not familiar with the shared ressources and central deployment possibilitiers either. Probably the easiest way is still to find (or create) a common path for all users.
