One of the most frustrating things while using Solibri is that sometimes I somehow manage to sever the connection between an issue and the results that generated that issue. The ‘Show in Results’ option is greyed out, and components associated with the issue no longer report checking results related to this issue in their ‘issues’ property tab, in which case these components ought to have been disassociated from this issue when the presentation was updated from results.

Under what circumstances can the connecion between an issue and a checking result inadvertently be removed? Long list, or just a few things to keep in mind? And can it be restored?

Related: why is this Tab named ‘Issues’ and not ‘Checking Results?’

      Hello @Ekko-Nap,

To be able to assist you, I would like to ask first which version of Solibri are you using?

I ask this, because if you are using BCF Live Connector (from version 9.12.0 onwards), the first thing that comes to mind is possibly forgetting to save the SMC model after syncing with BCF Live. It is essential that the model is saved, in order to retain checking result (and local issue) links with BCF Live projects. Here are some more tips regarding BCF Live Connector.

If you are not using a newer version, some other things that come to mind which may have an effect on this:

      1. Using check selected, please check this post for some more info.
      2. Some of these cases may be related to updating models, with a newer revision that may have missing/changed IFC Entity or IFCType information. Check out this post for more info.

      Kind regards,
Toni on behalf of the Solibri team

        Hi Toni,
I am using 9.12.1.9. Thanks for the tip, good start.
In the particular case that caused me to post, I did not use BCF Live Connector.

I kept digging myself, and found one obvious way to sever the connection: if an issue is fixed (it happens) Solibri removes the original components from an issue. That ALSO severs the link between the Checking Results and the issue, because there is nothing to show.

Incidentally, I then wanted to integrate the comments in a BCF that was edited by the party responsible for fixing the issue. That BCF contained the original components, because the fix was to move one of the original components. Now the issue is once again associated to the components involved in the issue before it was fixed. The issue now appears exactly the same as when I made it, but without the link to the checking results. Confusing.
Updating the issue from the checking results again will not get rid of these components, because the link was removed by the fixing of the issue.

It would seem the best way to handle this is first integrate comments from BCF (while the link with the Checking Results is still there) and only then update the fixed model(s).
Is there an easy way to get the comments from a BCF without getting the components as well? I imagine the BCF would need to be edited to strip out the components before taking it to Solibri.

          @Ekko-Nap

U can’t get only comments in Solibri witout the coponents.
          The best way is:

          1 Make a issue
2 upload the issue to BIM Collab.

          3 fix it in revit/archicad/etc
          4 make a new ifc
5 add comment inde issue with BCF connector in revit/archicad or online in BIM Collab(status resolved)

6 update the model with the new ifc
7 sync(download) the issues in Solibri with BIM collab by only updating the issues in the presentation. Solibri has now the latest stand of the issue
          8 run the check again.
9 rate the issue you see
10 go to the presentation, click it with the right mouse buttun anbd choose update from results.
11 a box appear with the choice to add new issues, but also remove issus tha don’t excist anymore. Do not slect that one.
12 The presentation is updated, als the issues witch are resolved/don’t excist stand in this presentation
13 add checking decisions in the vieuw issue
14 move this collum to the front, so it is sorted on this colum.
15 issues with the decision Undefined are the issues that don’t exist anymore. This are the issues witch grey out the option Show in Results. Give those isseus the status Closed.
The issue don’t have any componets anymore because the ruleset check it and there is no component left witch are wrong so the component are not in the issue anymore.
16 sync (upload) the new en edit isseus to BIM Collab

Look at document how we do it.Definitief - BIM Collab communicatie Solibri.pdf

            Hi @Harmen-Jorritsma,
Thanks for the lineup. BIMCollab sure makes these things easier to manage. Unfortunately, sometimes plain bcf is all that is available on a project.
I have to disagree on Solibri Issues not being able to exist without Components, if that is what you mean in your opening statement. There is a button in Solibri that removes Components from Issues.
