The latest version. I can recreate it every time with this bcf sample when I reload it. I can share it with you for investigation if you provide me a link or a mail adress so that I can give you access rights.

Edit: Actually it also happens with other .bcf of this type where I just realized that some slides are simply missing which is even more perfidiousm as I didn’t know at first that the data set was not complete.

At the moment this is quite clumsy. At the top of the ITO you have the ´+´, ´-´, and ´=´ buttons that can be used to set components to a selection basket. After you’ve run an ITO, you can select all the rows in the table and press the = button to put the components to the selection basket. Then you can pick the component you’re interested in, for example, in the 3D and press the ´-´ button in the Info view. If the number of components in the selection basket (you see the Selected text at the bottom of the Solibri window) decreases, then the component is in the ITO in question.

You can use either the Takeoff All or Takeoff Selected method to run the ITO. The latter does the Takeoff only for the components that are in the Selection Basket at the moment.

You can specify which components are considered in the ITO in the filter that you can find when you press the “Edit Information Takeoff Definition” button (the cogwheel) in the toolbar.

Above the filter you again have the buttons to add/remove/set components to the selection basket. With those, you can see which components the filter affects to. Unfortunately, those buttons seem to be disabled at times.

Just perhaps it is possible to open rules via text editor ir paste it into the Solibri file via text editor as well?

Hi all,

We are actively working on a solution that would allow multiple users to access the same file at the same time (without being “blocked”). This has been part of what our team has been focusing on for Solibri 10 version, however - since the version’s release has now been postponed, we will be looking into including some form of that feature in 2023.

Once we have more information to share about it, we will. But just to let you know that it is in our plans.

Or, you could create your classifications/ITOs you want to group by, and again select those classifications or rows in the ITO, set them to the selection basket, and then filter by selection in the Results view.

This is basically the workflow I use when I am filtering issues globally and if you ask me usability could be better.
As this is a classic request of the category “better issue management” the following topic might also be of interest.

I also leave another topic here as to me the whole thing is not just about filtering checking results where you can at least achieve in a smart way what’s discussed here but it’s a totally different story when it comes to slides and this is at least as important in my eyes. There issues still need to have manual labels or e.g. hints in the titel if you want to filter them in a fast way - in short lot of manual input is required to get reliable results.

Hello Matti Kannala,
Today, I use the number of triangles of each object to check the geometrical size of an object. I look at objects that have more than 3 000 triangles and consider them as too detailled.
In the same way, I look at the total size of my model by getting the total number of triangles of all objects.
The purpose is to have a metric that can give me the geometrical size of an object and of a model, because I want the geometrical size of my model to be low I or performance to be optimal. This model is going to be integrated in a online browser based ifc viewer, which as some performance limits considering geometrical detail.
So which metric would be best ? Polygon count ? Triangle Count ? Or something else (like a combination of both for instance) ?

Dear Society members,

Earlier today, Wednesday 31st of August at around 14.00 EEST we experienced unexpected downtime, and this has affected Solibri Solution Center access and Solibri software usage.

After working hard, we were able to resolve the issue and restore the service at 17.00 EEST and are recovering back to normal. Users are now able to access Solibri as usual.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

It is something that could be improved, but something that has not been improved yet. I would guess this will have a low priority, since it is something that can be worked around by the user, but of course it might get fixed in some version.

It’s helpful to see the exceptions. I aim to summarize which IfcEntity needed for a check using certain Solibri Components in the filter.

What I don’t really understand, is how the predefined type gets defined. For example, if a Solibri Ceiling Component (IfcCovering) doesn’t have an available CEILING Predefined type (IfcCoveringTypeEnum - I guess it is based on certain collected data of the entity?), then it is actually mapped as a Solibri Covering?
So is it possible that Solibri maps a ceiling (IfcCovering) to a Solibri Covering if certain parameters are not available?

Predefined type does come directly from IFC. IfcCovering has PredefinedType which is optional. In this specific case, if it is empty, IfcCovering becomes Covering in Solibri.

Hi Mats,

Hopefully you can use Rule #222 Component distance to check the distance between components if you are checking for exclusion (minimum setting) or within a distance (maximum setting) to check if component conform to the distance requirements.

Please see the example below where every WC requires a WHB to be within 750mm (don’t forget when using maximum distances you need to take into account the minimum number and this is initially set to 2).

If you change the Space or Space Group Containment to Space from the default value Ignore Space or Space Group then you can ensure that it only checks distances to the target components based on the Source Component.
